Posted by JediLlama 232 days ago in Entertainment (http://www.news.com.au)
Aussie music icons Men At Work are one step closer to being stripped of thousands of dollars in royalties from their 1980s smash hit Down Under.
The band has been accused of stealing Down Under's famous flute riff from the children's tune Kookaburra Sits In The Old Gum Tree - penned more than 75 years ago by Toorak teacher Marion Sinclair for a Girl Guides competition.

ComicsAlliance's Twilight Drinking Game

Posted by JediLlama 3 hours ago in Entertainment (http://www.comicsalliance.com)
Let's face facts here, folks: "Twilight" is not very good, but at this point, if you want to keep your fingers on the pulse of the pop culture community, familiarity with it is almost a requirement. That's why we've taken it upon ourselves to combine the first installment of the Twilight saga with the one thing that might almost get it to make sense: heavy drinking! Just pour a glass of your favorite adult beverage and read along, but be warned: If you actually do this, you will probably die, and you will definitely remember less about the book when it's over than when you started.

Exclusive: South Park's First Ever Deleted Scene

Posted by JediLlama 9 days ago in Entertainment (http://ccinsider.comedycentral.com)
Sometimes deleted scenes are cool, but often they're kind of a disappointment. "Oh yeah, I guess I can see why they cut out this 15-minute montage of Iron Man preparing and eating a pastrami hoagie." I don't know if that's why the upcoming South Park: The Complete Thirteenth Season is going to be the series' first DVD set to include deleted scenes, but I do know that from the looks of this one, it was worth the wait.

Matt Stone & Trey Parker Are Not Your Political Allies (No Matter What You Believe)

Posted by JediLlama 15 days ago in Entertainment (http://www.huffingtonpost.com)
It's hard to believe there's anything these men don't say. They've taken on everything from abortion to molestation to cat orgies over the past 13 years and have not been delicate about it. They've only been censored once and that was during the Muhammad cartoon uproar last year, when they tried to insert a picture of the Islamic holy figure into their show.

Quake 3 ported to Android

Posted by JediLlama 21 days ago in Entertainment (http://code.google.com)
When I received a Motorola Milestone phone, I wanted to get into Android development. I had seen ports of Quake3 to the iphone and the N900 which have similar specifications (all use a similar CPU and the PowerVR GPU), so I thought why not bring Quake3 to Android. As a start point I used the N900 version of ioquake3. It only took me a day to get the game to compile and to load the Quake3 main-function. After that it took me a few more days to get OpenGL and some input working. In the weeks following the initial port I added touchscreen support, networking and sound.
